This project is an interior renovation to an existing space of Old City Hall, approximately 2,600 sq. ft. which was occupied by Visit Anchorage. Most of the work is to the interior of the building which will consist of demolishing walls, doors, restrooms, suspended ceiling, lighting and flooring. There is a historic door w/transom and wall that cannot be demolished. Structural improvements will be added to columns adding additional support for the roof and second floor. Moment frame to be installed at the front of building which will add additional structural support. This site is a historic site which means we cannot change the exterior look of the building. There will be some exterior patch work and repairs with painting to match existing. When completed this site will be a new branch of the Anchorage Public Library.
