The Westlands VI Solar Project is a large-scale private renewable energy development proposed under Conditional Use Permit No. 26-02 in Kings County, California. The project results from dividing the previously approved Westlands Cherry Solar Project (CUP No. 22-05) into two separate permits, reallocating responsibilities between a standalone battery storage project and this primary solar generation facility. The Westlands VI Solar Project proposes construction of a 250-megawatt (MW) commercial solar photovoltaic facility with 210 MW (840 megawatt-hours) of battery energy storage, along with a substation, operations and maintenance facility, storage building, and associated ancillary infrastructure on approximately 2,077.26 acres.
