Sealed proposals are requested for the construction of new baseball and softball field house and soccer dressing rooms at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex for Gulf Shores City Schools. All General Contractors submitting bids are required to visit the site and examine all existing conditions prior to submitting their proposal. Contractors must arrange site visits with the school. All bidders must have general liability and workman's compensation insurance. The project is to be bid excluding taxes. Proposals must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect. No bid can be withdrawn for ninety days after the closing. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to Gulf Shores City Schools in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds are required at contract signing. Bidders exceeding amounts set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed by Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must display their current license number on the envelope. Only documents published through the Architect's outlined procedure are endorsed. Addendums will only be provided to entities confirmed as bidding. Printed sets must be returned in reusable condition within ten days after bid opening. All RFIs and RFAs must be submitted via the forms in the project manual and only through email; telephone or fax inquiries will not be accepted. Contractors are responsible for ensuring proper supervision of all work. Completion time should be referenced in the scope of work in the Project Manual.
