The project is located at 850 Quartz Hill Road in the City of Redding, Shasta County. The scope of work is the preparation of a Tentative Map and the development of infrastructure and grading that would support a 120-lot single-family housing development at the site (APN 115-170-001) within the Redding city limits in Shasta County, California. The project will use CDBG-DR-INF funds provided in response to the 2018 Carr Fire. The activity will impact approximately 0.059 acres of Fresh Emergent or Seasonal wetlands for the construction of a road crossing. The grading and fill will affect the hydrology of the area, resulting in an overall increase in the size of the wetland area serving as a natural detention basin. The City has evaluated alternatives and mitigation to minimize adverse impacts and determined there is no practicable alternative to wetland development. Environmental files and project documentation are available for public inspection, review, and copying upon request.
