Separate written sealed bids for a general contract for the furnishing of all labor and materials for the construction of Quarry Trails Improvement will be received. The scope of the project includes, but is not limited to, construction of approximately 1500 sq. ft. restroom building with sidewalk, curb and gutter, parking lot striping, landscaping and irrigation, and all other associated work required to complete all as shown and specified in the plans and contract documents. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State Law and show Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the instructions to bidders. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds or Performance Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their Power of Attorney. Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs. No prospective contractor may withdraw their proposal within ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate, sealed and deposited with the City Clerk prior to the designated hour and date. Bid number 2026-07 should be marked in the lower left corner of the envelope. Electronic bidding submissions are also offered. The City of Brandon reserves the right to waive any information or irregularities, to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City, or to reject any or all bids. The contract time is two hundred and fifty (250) consecutive calendar days with liquidated damages being seven hundred fifty dollars ($750) per calendar day thereafter.
