Renovation of an educational facility in Walled Lake, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Reference Number 0000425968 Walled Lake Consolidated School District is accepting quotes for a walk-in cooler/freezer combo, dimensions 29' 3" x 10' x 8', recessed into floor for flush transition. Includes disconnection and removal of existing walk-in, installation of new walk-in box, pipe refrigeration from roof and startup new system; excavation and removal of approximately 1.5" of soil from site; patching new penetrations through roof; removing/replacing ceiling tiles and track as needed for cooler demo and installation; installation of new quarry tile to flush out with existing kitchen floor, designing and building fire suppression for cooler/freezer; bringing power to new walk-in, removing existing outlet and replacing on exterior of wall box after installation of new box. All vendors must hold valid Michigan contractor licenses applicable to the scope of work, including but not limited to refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing, and shall be responsible for obtaining all required permits, including but not limited to electrical and fire permits, and scheduling all necessary inspections prior to commencing and upon completion of work. This is a turnkey project. The awarded vendor shall serve as the sole prime contractor and shall be responsible for the complete and fully functional installation of the walk-in cooler/freezer combination unit, including all work described in this scope of work. The prime contractor shall be responsible for engaging, coordinating, and managing all subcontractors and trades necessary to complete the project, including but not limited to refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, roofing, fire suppression, and flooring. Walled Lake Consolidated School District will not manage, coordinate, or contract separately with any subcontractors or individual trades. All communication, scheduling, and accountability for the full scope of work rests solely with the prime contractor. The awarded vendor shall ensure that all subcontractors meet the applicable licensing and insurance requirements outlined in this solicitation. Bid award recommendation is expected to be presented to the Board of Education on June 18, 2026. The awarded vendor shall plan and schedule all work, subcontractors, and material procurement accordingly to meet this deadline. Failure to achieve substantial completion by this date may result in liquidated damages. Question Deadline 06/04/2026 at 2:00 PM ET Questions are submitted online Yes Bid Bond 5 % Event Site Walkthrough note : Vendors will have the opportunity to inspect existing conditions, including the current walk-in unit, kitchen layout, roof access, and all areas affected by the scope of work. Vendors who choose not to attend the pre-bid walkthrough assume full responsibility for thoroughly understanding the scope of work and existing site conditions, and shall not be entitled to additional compensation or contract modifications due to unforeseen conditions that would have been apparent during the walkthrough. Any questions arising from the walkthrough must be submitted in writing through BidNet Direct no later than Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm EDT. Responses to questions will be issued as written addenda and posted to BidNet Direct, where they will be available to all prospective vendors
