The Project is located approximately 375 feet east of: 4901 Breakwater Avenue, Hayward, CA 94545 and is described as follows: Phase 1A of the Restore Hayward Marsh Project includes construction of a new access road to support planned soil import operations at the site. The project will construct a two-lane gravel access road extending from Breakwater Avenue, near the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD) Interpretive Center, to Pond 2B. The road will be designed to accommodate haul truck traffic. Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: removal of marsh vegetation, placement of geogrid reinforcement, protection of water control structures, import of fill material to construct the roadway, and installing and maintaining site protection measures including endangered species exclusion fencing. Work areas are located within soft soil and tidal conditions with endangered species restrictions,. All imported soils must comply with Soil Acceptance Criteria and Quality Assurance Project Plan and project specifications.
