Renovation of an educational facility in Salinas, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The scope of work is the Fire Alarm Upgrade Project at Virginia Rocca Barton Elementary School. The contract is awarded as per the contract documents, including drawings and specifications, which can be obtained from the architect. Bidders must submit sealed bids for the base bid. All labor must be paid at no less than the prevailing rate. Contractors and subcontractors for projects over $25,000 must be registered under Labor Code Section 1725.5, and provide proof of registration. Public works contractor registration numbers must be stated for subcontractors performing more than 0.5% of the bid. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is required. Bids must be accompanied by a bidder’s bond, cashier’s check, or certified check for at least 10% of the base bid. The successful bidder must furnish payment and performance bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract sum. Licensed contractors only, with a Class "B" license, may bid and must maintain licensing throughout the project and warranty periods. The successful bidder may substitute securities or establish escrow in lieu of retainage as described in the general conditions.
