Description

Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Mercedes, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.

The scope of work includes the complete Design-Build of a new emergency generator and metal building at Retamal Dam. This involves replacing the nonfunctional emergency generator, installation of a new generator housed within a metal building set on a new concrete pad, and providing a modern diesel fuel tank. Construction activities include site preparation, inspection of all systems and structures, disposal of debris and construction waste, and quality control testing. All work must be performed between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and access to the site requires passing through USIBWC levees, with Border Patrol present in the area. Contractors and subcontractors must use identifying vehicles and avoid US Fish and Wildlife property adjacent to the dam. Bidders must provide a warranty of at least 5 years for the generator and automatic transfer switch, and 20 years for shingles/roofing and the roof system.
