The Borough desires to continue the current method of curbside solid waste collection and existing recycling by using an individual private subscription with a single hauler pursuant to a municipal services contract. The successful contractor shall be responsible for the collection, transportation and disposal of residential solid waste, as defined in the specifications and recyclable materials for an initial period of, at least, three years, subject to two additional one-year extensions. Contractors will be providing same day curbside collection of solid waste and recyclable materials once each week, as more fully explained in the contract specifications. The contractor will be responsible to supply each account with a 96-gallon wheeled trash tote for solid waste and a 64-gallon wheeled tote for recyclables. The Borough is also requesting one bulk item pickup per week or per month, listed as alternate rates. All bid proposals shall remain valid through October 31, 2026, to provide sufficient time for Pennsburg Borough Council to complete its evaluation and consideration of the bids. Consideration will be made to the lowest responsible bidder as determined to be in the best interest of the Borough.
