Brooks Homes was originally built in 1943 and consists of 44 buildings comprising of 330 residential units . The site rehabilitation scope includes comprehensive site improvements designed to enhance infrastructure , safety , and overall quality . Planned upgrades include replacement of the aged stormwater , and sanitary systems that will help improve drainage and reliability which includes removal of storm structures , and abandonment of storm piping , removal as necessary . Also included is the replacement of existing water mains including connections into existing buildings . Removal and replacement of existing pavement and base where utility trenching is identified (storm , sanitary , and water connections to city mains ). In addition , there will be the reconstruction of parking areas using permeable pavers to better manage water runoff . New and repaired sidewalks will improve accessibility and walkability for the community . The general scope of plaza and road work includes removal of asphalt parking lot and driveway , Removal of storm structures , and abandonment of storm piping , removal as necessary . Replacement of asphalt driveway around building and driveway to community plaza . New stamped concrete plaza with bollards and base for basketball court . New storm structures , piping , and underground detention vault and fine grading of site including ADA access . Erosion and sedimentation control measures as needed .
