Site work for a water / sewer project in Toledo, Oregon. Completed plans call for site work for a 45,000-square-foot water / sewer project.
Construct an approximate 45,000 square-foot concrete washdown slab for boat maintenance work including site grading, formwork, and rebar. For bid submission, combine all documents into a single pdf file attached to your email. Scanned documents must include the Bid Form (C-410) and all forms identified in Article 2.01 of the Bid Form. A scanned copy of the fully executed bid bond is acceptable. Bidders are responsible for confirming receipt of their emailed bids by calling the Port of Toledo before the proposal deadline. All bids and associated documents must be received by 2:00 PM. At that time, the bids will be publicly opened and read. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered . Schedule 1 - Sanitary Sewer & Other Piping Improvements 1. Install Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) measures in the vicinity of the work under this Schedule and as indicated in the ESC Plans or otherwise directed by the ESC Site Inspector. ESC measures should be maintained throughout the duration of the work. - 2. Directional Boring and Casing under RR Tracks Coordinate work with Armadillo Boring, Inc., phone (503) 588-8050. Armadillo already has 4" steel casing on hand for this project. Obtain Railroad flaggers as necessary per RR crossing permit. Comply with all other conditions of RR crossing permit. Upon completion of casing installation, install 2" HDPE force main. Connect force main to existing 2" HDPE force main pipe next to shipyard sign and connect discharge to PS03 wetwell. 3. PS02 & Related Improvements a. - PS02 Mechanical Improvements - Install submersible pumps (2) and passive vent in existing pump station (PS02). Pumps consist of 2 Hp, 460V, 3-phase powered heavy duty grinder pumps. The passive vent consist of a 2" PVC threaded mushroom vent. Pumps and vent cap are already on hand at the Port of Toledo Industrial Yard and only need to be installed . Pump guide rails, base elbow, and discharge piping are already in place in the wetwell. b. PS02 Electrical - The following electrical and related work is required to achieve operational status of PS02: 1) Install pump station control panel . Pump station control panel consists of a pre-assembled panel in a 30" wide by 36" tall stainless steel NEMA 4X enclosure. Control panel should be mounted on a slotted strut channel support frame secured to precast concrete blocks or embedded in poured-in-place concrete at the location indicated on the Plans next to the pump station. Furnish and install strut channel and related components for support frame as needed. Furnish and install conduit for the power supply and for control wiring. 2) Hazardous Location Compliance - The wet well and the area within 2 feet of the wet well has been classified as a Class 1 , Division 1 , A Hazardous Location as defined by the National Electrical Code. All electric wiring and motors located within the subject area shall be in strict compliance with these standards. The shop drawings carry the manufacturer's certification that all equipment located in the subject area meets the requirements of NEC Class 1 , Division 1 Criteria and the Underwriter's Laboratory (UL). 3) Furnish and install electrical disconnect and convenience outlet (if required by electrical code). Electrical disconnect should consist of heavy duty 3-pole safety switch rated for 460V, 30 Amp service, in a stainless steel NEMA 4X enclosure. Convenience outlet (if required by code) should consist of a 20 Amp commercial rated GFCI outlet in a NEMA 4X weather-proof enclosure which can be mounted on the strut channel frame used for the pump control panel. If a step-down transformer is needed, it should be a dry type in a minimum NEMA 3R enclosure. 4) Extend conduit as shown on Plans and connect to existing distribution panel in boathouse to provide power for pump station . Some existing 2" PVC electrical conduit is in place along east side of Boathouse. Extension of the conduit will be necessary to access power from the existing breaker panel inside the building. Power wires shall be as required by the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code based on pump horsepower. . PS04 & Related Improvements a. PS04 Mechanical Improvements Install submersible pump in existing pump station (PS04). Pump consists of 1.8 Hp, 460V, 3-phase powered heavy duty grinder pumps. The pump is already on hand at the Port of Toledo Industrial Yard and only need to be installed. Pump guide rails, base elbow, and discharge piping are already in place in the wetwell. b. PS04 Electrical Improvements 1) Run pump electrical cable through pre-installed conduit and connect to control panel. Install floats and complete all electrical connections in control panel. Schedule 2 - Washdown Slab 1. The work under Schedule 2 consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of an approximate 45,000 square foot 12-inch-thick double reinforced washdown slab as shown on the plans. Work shall include grading and site preparation, assembly of the double layer rebar mat, all necessary formwork, placement and finishing of the concrete slab, and backfilling and compacting gravel against the finished slab to match the finished grade. It is expected that the overall slab will be constructed as six (6) discrete slabs poured against one another. The slabs shall be independent, without dowels in between adjacent slabs. It is expected that there will be enough gravel remaining from initial grading to backfill against the finished slab. Nevertheless, a bid item to Furnish & Place 3/4"-0 Aggregate Base is included should there be a need for additional rock. The date by which Substantial Completion must be achieved is August 31, 2026, and the date by which readiness for final payment must be achieved is September 30, 2026. Award is subject to final approval.
