Sealed bids are invited for the furnishing of necessary materials and construction of the Wallace Avenue Water and Sewer Improvements. The project includes the removal and abandonment of existing 8 and 10 inch combination sewers and the installation of approximately 690 feet of new 12 inch combination sewer. It also includes the replacement of approximately 780 feet of existing 6 inch water main with new 8 inch water main. The Engineer's estimate for the work is $1,150,000.00. All bids must be signed and submitted on the blanks provided within the specifications and must state unit prices on the blanks provided. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked "WALLACE AVENUE WATER AND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS" and addressed appropriately. Each bid must list every interested person, firm, or corporation, and be accompanied by a bid guarantee: either a Bid Guarantee and Contract Bond amounting to 100% of the bid using the provided forms (amount of the bid need not appear on the form), or a certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit in favor of the City of Bowling Green for 10% of the bid. If awarded, a Contract Bond (100% payment and performance bond) is required. The successful bidder must submit an affidavit regarding delinquent personal property taxes in Wood County, Ohio. Bids received late or without a proper bid guarantee will not be considered. The successful bidder and all subcontractors must comply with Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 4115, and must execute a separate Public Improvement Agreement with the owner before the contract is finalized. Bids may not be withdrawn for 60 days after the closing time. The City of Bowling Green reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, and determine the lowest and best bidder.
