Sealed bids are requested for asbestos abatement, demolition, limited soil removal, and site restoration activities at the Fry Building Site, 116 North Pearl Street, Natchez, Mississippi. The project includes a Base Bid and two Alternates. The Base Bid is for asbestos abatement of the Fry Building according to all applicable regulations. Alternate No. 1 is for demolition of the Fry Building after abatement, including removal of slabs and foundations within the building footprint and disposal of demolition debris. Alternate No. 2 is for demolition of existing adjoining parking lots; limited removal and disposal of non-hazardous contaminated surficial soils from up to four designated excavation sections if contamination is observed; and site restoration, including installation of an interim gravel parking lot over the former parking lot areas and building footprint. Soil sampling and regulatory decision-making will be handled by others. The Owner may award the Base Bid and any Alternates independently. Federal prevailing wage and Buy America requirements apply. Bidders must submit a Bid Bond or Certified Check equal to five percent of their bid, and the successful bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds, each for 100% of the awarded contract amount. All required bonds must be on current AIA forms.
