THFM invites high quality, professional architectural and design firms to serve as Prime Consultant for the New Facility Expansion Project, which entails the replacement of the tent hangar with a larger, more permanent structure as well as some focused renovations to the current hangar. The project involves the development of an innovative new building just south of the current hangar, designed to maximize site utilization for current and future storage requirements while meeting modern standards for museum, restoration, and display spaces. The expansion aims to provide protection for more artifacts, including specific aircraft under restoration, improve climate control for artifact preservation, enhance the visitor experience, and allow for the upgrade of exhibits, incorporating multimedia and hands-on learning opportunities that are not possible in the current outdoor structure. The estimated construction value is $45,000,000. Submission must be hard copy.
