The Town of Moraga is seeking a qualified engineering team to evaluate and design a permanent repair for the Rheem Blvd at Chalda Way Slide Repair Project. The project includes addressing roadway and embankment distress on Rheem Boulevard near Chalda Way, such as pavement cracking, vertical separation, and issues with curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and slopes. The scope begins with an engineering and geotechnical review of current site conditions, development of practical repair options, and preparation of a Basis of Design Memorandum to assist the Town in selecting a preferred approach. If authorized, the selected consultant may also prepare final bid-ready plans, specifications, estimates, and provide support during bidding and construction. The consultant’s recommendations are to be based on current conditions with an updated investigation. Qualifications required include experience with public agency roadway, slope, slide repair, or embankment stabilization projects; strong civil and geotechnical engineering capabilities; the ability to evaluate repair alternatives and recommend practical, cost-effective, and constructible solutions; experience preparing Basis of Design documents and bid-ready PS&E; ability to coordinate survey, utility, drainage, environmental, right-of-way, and constructability considerations; and demonstrated experience managing small-to-mid-sized public works design projects with clear communication, schedule control, and quality work products.
