Sealed bids are to be received for the '2022 Drainage Infrastructure Improvements - Package No. 1 CP3433' for the City of Lake Charles, Louisiana. All bids must be submitted on the proper bid form or electronic bid form, with the contractor's license number displayed prominently on the outside of the envelope for paper bids. Bids received after the specified time will not be considered. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond payable to the City of Lake Charles in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid and all alternates. If a bid bond is used, it must be written by a surety or insurance company authorized according to state and federal requirements. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount, written by an approved surety or insurance company. Contractors must hold proper licensure as required by Louisiana law, appropriate to the project classification. Bidders must certify licensure, and bids will be evaluated based on the lowest responsible bid in compliance with specifications. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids not in accordance with requirements. Contractors must ensure non-discrimination concerning race, creed, color, or national origin, in compliance with relevant civil rights laws and regulations.
