The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors to replace the HVAC system in the NICTD maintenance shops. NICTD reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive technical defects if, in its judgment, the interests of NICTD so require. NICTD reserves the right to accept any bid within 60 days after the time of the opening of the bids, Questions via telephone or person to person are not accepted. All questions and clarification requests must be submitted by email to Alex Largen at alexandra.largen@nictd.com no later than 3:00 pm on June 23, 2026. Questions submitted after that time and date will not receive a response. This project involves complete HVAC replacement at the NICTD Maintenance Shop in Michigan City, Indiana, as engineered by DLZ Indiana, LLC. The scope includes demolishing the existing facility boiler, pumps, reheat coils, and rooftop unit. New installation requires a 15-ton packaged rooftop unit, a 399 MBH gas-fired condensing boiler, a 1-ton ductless split system, 13 hot-water VAV boxes, associated pumps, and a native BACnet Building Management System. Support work includes electrical circuit re-routing, local disconnects, concrete pad modifications, installing a fire-rated boiler room door, and final independent testing, adjusting, and balancing.
