The project is for drainage improvements and replacements as shown on the plans, including but not limited to: removal of 25’ of 42” concrete arch and 25’ of 36” RCP, removal of 70’ of twin 36” RCP, wall plug of 3’ x 5’ box culvert, installation of 55’ of 12’ x 3’ (inside pre-cast box culvert) (alternate 12’ x 3’ box); installation of 80’ of twin 36” RCP and 98’ of twin 36” CPP, 320’ of 24” RCP, 99’ of twin 18” RCP and 38’ of twin 18” CPP and 50’ of 12” RCP, installation of seven junction boxes, one curb inlet and one field basin, fence removal and replacements, riprap, street 8” concrete base and extra width removal for city asphalt paving, yard restoration and cleanup. Bidders must submit their bids by the stated deadline using any delivery method except electronic means (fax or e-mail). Bid documents can be obtained from the Engineer’s Office for a fee. Return of documents is not required and the fee is non-refundable. A performance and payment bond is required for contracts over $35,000. Bid security in the form of a cashier’s check or a corporate bid bond for five percent (5%) of the bid amount is required for bids over $35,000. Bids may not be withdrawn within 90 days of opening. Bidders must provide a certificate regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, as applicable, and comply with all laws and regulations. Conditional bids may be rejected. Contractors must comply with City Codes and subcontractors are subject to City approval. Bidders are expected to inspect the work site. Disadvantaged, small, minority, and woman-owned business enterprises are encouraged to participate, and certification is required for recognition. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities in the City’s best interest.
