Site work for a water / sewer project in Florence, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
In general, the project includes the replacement of an existing wetwell mounted packaged sewage lift station with new submersible pumps, package valve vault, emergency generator, and miscellaneous site improvements. Sealed bids must be clearly marked with ITB WS-R-00974, including the General Contractor License Number, and submitted to the specified address. Proposals are to be accompanied by a bid bond or cashier's check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price or $10,000, payable without recourse to the City of Florence, Alabama. This serves as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fourteen (14) days after the Notice of Award. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond for 100% of the contract price and a Payment Bond for 50% of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabama. The project is classified as a "Public Works" project and is subject to the competitive bid laws of Alabama. Resident contractors are to be given preference according to state law. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities, and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty days from the date set for receiving the bids.
