Renovation of a mixed-use development in Birmingham, Alabama. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 500-square-foot municipal facility; 1,500-square-foot office development; and 1,600-square-foot municipal facility.

Renovation and upgrade work is required across three primary interior spaces within a courthouse facility to enhance functionality, aesthetics, and user experience while maintaining consistency with existing finishes. The atrium, approximately 1,600 square feet, will be modified to improve circulation between entrances and first-floor public areas, including electrical upgrades, replacement or enhancement of lighting, relocation and reconfiguration of central features, updated signage and finishes, and wall improvements to support artwork and portrait displays. The administrative office space, approximately 1,500 square feet, will be renovated to include upgraded electrical, lighting, and HVAC systems, and reconfigured to accommodate two supervisory offices, three standard offices, an open semi-private cubicle workspace for four personnel, a small breakroom, and a walk-in vault. The jury assembly room kitchenette, approximately 500 square feet, will be expanded by incorporating an adjacent office, with upgrades to electrical, lighting, HVAC systems, countertops, cabinetry, and finishes to align with the overall jury assembly room design. All surfaces must match the existing conditions with approved improvements, and the final design must comply with Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standards. The project must also include a phased construction plan allowing for independent execution of each space and separate cost estimates, with detailed schematics provided upon request due to security restrictions.
