Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Whitby, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The intent of this Request for Prequalification (RFPQ) is to pre-qualify General Contractors with experience in greenfield potable water pumping station and reservoir construction projects who will be invited to submit a bid on subsequent Requests for Tender (invitational second-stage competitive process). The Prequalification will be for a term of three (3) years. The Regional Municipality of Durham (Region) intends to tender the following construction projects in 2026 - 2028: 1. Newcastle Zone 1 Reservoir & Zone 2 Pumping Station - Newcastle, Municipality of Clarington 2. Zone 4 Myrtle Road Reservoir - Whitby 3. Oshawa Zone 4/Zone 5 Pumping Station at Harmony Reservoir - Oshawa Only those who successfully pre-qualify will be permitted to submit bids for the subsequent Request for Tenders (RFTs). The Region cannot guarantee that all 3 projects will proceed. In order to support Canadian companies and Canadian jobs, while developing longer term alternatives to diversify the supply chain, the Region of Durham is not awarding contracts to U.S. Businesses.
