The project consists of a three-building childcare center, adding approximately 15,713 square feet, that utilizes carbon neutral design in the Municipality of North Cowichan. The three-building childcare center will include a variety of activity and nap rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, laundry rooms, staff rooms, and office space; to meet the needs of the 2022 Cowichan Regional Child Care Plan, which includes increasing coverage rates, creating new sites, improving accessibility and affordability, supporting child care workers and providers, as well as improving the quality of childcare. The tenders cover contracts for various aspects of construction and supply, including cast in place concrete, structural steel, aluminum rails, wood framing (labour only), wood chord trusses (supply), architectural woodwork, cementitious siding and trim, metal roofs, vinyl windows (supply), aluminum windows and doors, doors, frames and hardware, installation of doors and hardware, insulation, vapour barrier and gypsum wallboard, ceramic tile, acoustic ceilings, resilient flooring, painting, signage, toilet partitions, washroom accessories (supply), miscellaneous specialties (supply), window and door blinds, mechanical, electrical, excavation, fill and civil, and landscaping/irrigation. Submissions must be via the Trade Contractor Tender submission form, completed as described, and delivered either by email or in a sealed opaque envelope to Unitech Construction Management Ltd. Tender envelopes should specify the project name, submitting firm, address, contact details, and the tenders enclosed. Emailed or written revisions of tenders will be accepted before the closing time; telephone revisions are not accepted.
