Renovation of a detention facility in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Replacement of two existing hot water pumps at the Low I Powerhouse requires providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove and legally dispose of the existing pumps and install new base-mounted, double-suction split-case centrifugal pumps. The new pumps must meet specified performance criteria, including a Bell & Gossett e-HSC Model 4x6x12 or approved equivalent, delivering 700 GPM at 152 feet of total dynamic head, operating at 1780 RPM, with minimum hydraulic efficiency of 82% and driven by a 50 HP NEMA premium efficiency motor. The work includes field verification of piping, elevations, and clearances prior to procurement; installation of associated components such as isolation valves, suction diffusers, check valves, pressure gauges, and expansion joints; and ensuring proper alignment, grouting, lubrication, and protection against mechanical strain. The contractor is responsible for system startup, balancing, cleaning, and vibration testing using a factory-authorized representative, as well as providing advance notice for system shutdowns. Project closeout requires submission of operation and maintenance manuals, alignment reports, warranties, and training for the owner. Work must be completed within 250 calendar days, adhere to a weekday schedule, and comply with strict security requirements, including escorted access and no unsupervised inmate interaction.
