Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Kinston, Alabama. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The project consists of removing three timber bridge structures and constructing new low water crossings with corrugated metal pipe and reinforced concrete pavement. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract on a Lump Sum basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Proposal Form. Bidders are required to submit proof of qualifications to perform the Work and bid security as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Engineer or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or their bid will not be received or considered by the Engineer; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying the current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. Minimum wage rates for this project have been pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor and are set forth in the advertised specifications. Issuance of a contract or subcontract for this project is conditioned upon the acceptance by the contractor of the current Davis-Bacon Act Wage Rate Determination for Geneva County. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
