Description

Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The work generally consists of sidewalk repairs at various locations downtown. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. The contractor is responsible for obtaining exemption for sales and use taxes, and such taxes shall not be included in the bid. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract and furnish a corporate surety bond for faithful performance in an amount equal to 100% of the contract. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security equal to 5% of the bid, in the form of a cashier’s check, certified check, share draft, or bid bond as specified. All contractors and subcontractors are responsible for pre-employment drug screening of employees and must have a drug and alcohol testing policy conforming to Iowa Code. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor, as lawfully required. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to defer acceptance of any proposal for up to 60 days after opening.
