Demolition, site work, remodeling, renovation and addition to a municipal facility in Dayton, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the addition of a municipal facility; municipal facility; and municipal facility.

This project consists of renovating, remodeling, and partial demolition of an existing building and adding a building addition to create a new assembly area, meeting/conference room, bathroom facilities, kitchen, and related features for the City. The building will have all new utilities and a new roof. The Contractor is required to coordinate with the adjacent property owner(s) as the City building is attached to the adjacent owner’s building, and certain repairs and replacements on the adjacent owner’s downspout, some vinyl siding, and any rotten or water-damaged materials behind the vinyl siding will have to be replaced. The project also involves abatement of asbestos-containing materials. The Contractor must arrange for a laydown/storage area with the City and enter into a right of entry agreement and/or easement with the adjacent property owner for coordination of use of their parking lot. Each bid must include a bidder’s bond or a cashier’s check for 5% of the bid amount. The successful bidder must execute a performance bond for 100% of the contract price. All bidders must be licensed contractors per state law, and must list their name and license number on the bid envelope. The Contractor is responsible for verifying and maintaining documentation that all onsite construction personnel have passed the required background check. The bid envelope cover sheet must be completely filled out or the bid will be returned unopened. Employers with five or more employees must submit an affidavit verifying a Drug Free Workplace Program. Work is to be commenced immediately upon notice to proceed and completed within 225 days. Liquidated damages are set at $1,000 per day for delays beyond the completion time, with limited exceptions allowed for excusable delays if submitted in writing within the specified period.
