Site work for a water / sewer project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work generally consists of installation of a 16-inch ductile iron water main across the Cedar River by open cut installation at 7th Avenue to replace the existing 16-inch ductile iron water main at the 8th Avenue Bridge Cedar River Crossing, located at 7th Avenue from Valor Way SW, across Cedar River, to 1st St SE. Bids shall be on a Unit Price basis. Each bidder must submit bid security amounting to 5% of the bid, and upon award, provide a corporate surety bond for 100% of the contract amount. All contractors and subcontractors must have a drug and alcohol testing policy in compliance with Iowa Code and submit an acknowledgement of this policy with the bid. Bidders must comply with applicable Iowa laws regarding preference for products and labor, and provide equal opportunity for minority business enterprises. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informality, and defer acceptance for up to 60 days after opening. Bidding documents may be obtained or examined at designated locations, and bids must be submitted online by the specified deadline. No sales or use taxes shall be included in the bid.
