Demolition for a multi-residential development in East Hardwick, Vermont. Completed plans call for the demolition of a multi-residential development.

The work involves demolition and disposal activities for two stormwater/erosion-damaged residential properties located at 40 and 52 East Church Street in East Hardwick, Vermont. Attendance at the mandatory site visit at the project addresses is required for proposal submission. Contractors who do not attend will be considered non-responsive and will not be eligible for award. Electronic submissions are preferred. Work includes demolition of structures and accessory structures, asbestos management, septic system removal, fuel tank removal, utility disconnection, foundation treatment, grading, seeding, and associated disposal and documentation requirements Anticipated Notice to Proceed: July 3, 2026 Project Completion: Within forty-five (45) calendar days of Notice to Proceed. The selected contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, supervision, transportation, permits, notifications, and disposal services necessary to complete the project. Work includes: Structure Demolition o Demolition and lawful disposal of all residential structures. o Demolition and lawful disposal of all accessory structures. Asbestos Management o Management and disposal of asbestos-containing materials identified in the asbestos inspection reports in 52 East Church Street, East Hardwick, VT o Compliance with all applicable Vermont Department of Health requirements. o Submission of required notifications, manifests, and certifications to the Town. Septic System Removal o Removal and closure of both private septic systems in accordance with Vermont Environmental Protection Rules. Water Service Disconnection o Coordination with East Hardwick Fire District #1 for capping of water service at the shutoff. Fuel Tank Removal o Removal and lawful disposal of all fuel tanks and associated materials. o Compliance with all applicable Vermont requirements. Utility Coordination o Utility disconnection and coordination as required. o Dig Safe notification and compliance. Foundation Treatment o Foundations may be broken up and left in place provided they are modified to prevent water retention. o Resulting voids shall be filled with clean material. o Sites shall be left in a safe condition suitable for seeding.
