This project's purpose is to pre level and overlay roads in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. This project involves, but is not limited to: pre leveling, paving of the roadway, cul-de-sacs, public approaches, striping, shouldering and mailbox pullouts. All construction shall be completed in accordance with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (SSHC) 2017 Edition. Project specific special provisions are provided in the following sections. The requirements contained in these specifications and special provisions are hereby made a part of this solicitation and resultant Contract. Failure to comply with any work as described in this scope of work may be considered a material breach of the Contract and is subject to termination as a result of non-compliance. Gravel shoulders are 1' wide. Striping from Fox Avenue to Big Lake Road. Estimated to be less than $105,000. Base Bid Schedule 3 - RSA 27, (Sylvan Road): Pavement section is 1" HMA, 22' wide. Gravel shoulders are 1' wide of D-1. Waste excavation off site. Estimated to be less than $211,000. Base Bid Schedule 4 - RSA 27, Saska's Meadows (Bettina Way and Paddy Place): Pavement section is 1" HMA, 21-23' wide. Gravel shoulders are 1' wide. Estimated to be less than $179,000. Additive Alternate Schedule 1 - RSA 21, (Purinton Parkway): Pavement section is 1" HMA, 22' wide. Gravel shoulders are 1' wide. Estimated to be less than $24,000. Additive Alternate Schedule 2 - RSA 27, (Edgewater Drive): Pavement section is 1" HMA, 20' wide. Gravel shoulders are 1' wide of D-1. Waste excavation off site. Estimated to be less than $113,000. Work Description o Supply labor, equipment, materials, and supplies to perform the required work as described herein and shown on the attached maps. o Driveways will be addressed by either widening the screed of the paver while paving mainline and raking the edge down, the placement of the D-1 shoulder or both as applicable. o Contractor is required to call for utility locates prior to digging. o Work Zone speed limit: Limit speed of vehicles associated with construction to 20 miles per hour within project limits.
