The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials, and services necessary to design, manufacture, and install Francis turbine runners, improve dissolved oxygen levels, rewind existing generators for Units 1-3 and Unit 5, and refurbish associated mechanical and electrical components for Units 1-6 at the Wolf Creek Powerhouse. Work includes disassembly and reassembly of generating units, alignment investigations, inspection and refurbishment or replacement of turbine and generator components, installation of aeration systems, supply of turbine oil, piping replacement, installation of sensors, and completion of operational and performance testing. The effort also includes electrical system upgrades such as design and installation of stator windings and cores, refurbishment of rotor components, replacement of generator bus systems, cabling, breakers, and related equipment, along with commissioning, testing, and validation. The contractor shall perform design modeling using computational fluid dynamics and physical scale models, apply modern technologies to enhance turbine aeration capabilities, and ensure all systems meet performance and reliability requirements. Work must be coordinated with government-performed asbestos abatement activities, during which access to units may be restricted.
