Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The scope of work includes but is not limited to improvements to the improvements to the water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and street. Includes the installation of 16-inch and 24-inchwater main; abandonment of old water main; reconnecting water main on side streets; reconnecting water services including possible lead service replacement; installation of 2-way sewer cleanouts; storm sewer work to accommodate water main; ADA sidewalk ramps; spot curb & gutter, driveway, and sidewalk replacement as needed; HMA paving; pavement markings. Questions about this IFB should be directed to: Department Contact: Debbie Jung, P.E., Senior Civil Engineer at jungd@kalamazoocity.org Work shall start within 10 working days after receipt of notification by Contractor of Notice to Proceed, and final completion shall be May 28, 2027. The bid must be accompanied by a bid bond which shall not be less than five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guarantee. A performance bond shall be furnished in the full amount of the contract ensuring the City of faithful performance of all the provisions of the contract, and the satisfactory performance of any equipment required hereunder. The bond shall also ensure the City against defective workmanship and/or materials. A labor and material (payment) bond shall be furnished for the period covered by the contract, in the full amount of the contract for the protection of labor and material suppliers and sub-contractors. Liquidated damages, if applicable, shall be assessed per MDOT Standard Specifications Section 108.10.C.1 for Contractor failure to open to traffic or complete the work within the contract time. Additional charges per section 108.10.C.2 will be assessed at $3,000 per day for failure to open intersections as detailed in the Maintaining Traffic Special Provision.
