The State of Michigan seeks a Professional Services Contractor to conduct a study evaluating the brick façades of several buildings at the Egeler Reception and Guidance Center Campus for the Michigan Department of Corrections in Jackson, MI. The buildings exhibit varying signs of movement, damage, and cracking in the brick veneer. The study will assess the existing conditions for the level of damage, identify possible causes of deterioration, cracking, or failure, recommend potential corrective actions, and provide cost estimates for each building. The scope includes on-site inspections, existing condition analysis, evaluation of potential repair options, annotated drawings or photographs, cost projections, and proposed repair schedules. The study must consider brick or masonry materials, installation methods and connections, and the expected service life of the façade. Any existing drawings will be provided to the successful contractor. The study must be authored by a Construction Design Professional licensed in Michigan. All recommended corrective measures must comply with applicable codes. Buildings included are: Tower 1, Tower 2, Tower 3, Administration Building, Intake Processing Building, Food Service Building, Duane Waters Hospital Building, Cell Blocks 1, 2, 3 (including window infills), Cell Block 4 – north façade, and Housing Unit C. Proposal responses must be uploaded to SIGMA VSS. Enter the total cost for all phases as the bid amount. Firms are encouraged to combine their technical and cost proposals into one attachment for submission. Attachment size is limited to 25mb.
