The project includes removal of the existing metal portable restroom enclosure, utility connection for the drinking fountain, approximately 200 linear feet of new water service line, concrete flatwork and ADA access improvements, gravel infiltration pit drainage, vault excavation and installation, site grading, restoration, and related construction services. The project includes: o Removal of existing infrastructure o Furnishing and installation of a precast concrete vault restroom o Furnishing and installation of an ADA-compliant outdoor drinking fountain with bottle filler o Excavation and vault installation o Water service connection and plumbing o Concrete flatwork and ADA access improvements o Drainage and gravel infiltration pit for fountain o Site grading, restoration, and cleanup o Staging, crane access, and delivery coordination Removal of Existing Metal Structure The project site currently contains a metal enclosure structure surrounding the existing portable restroom location. Contractor shall remove the existing metal structure and associated materials as necessary to prepare the site for the new restroom and drinking fountain improvements. Removal work shall include, but is not limited to: o Removal of existing metal panels, posts, framing, anchors, fasteners, and other associated materials. Removal of any incidental materials directly associated with the existing portable restroom enclosure. o Proper disposal or recycling of removed materials, unless otherwise directed by the Town. o Site cleanup, grading, and preparation. o Coordination with the Town prior to disposal of any materials that may be salvaged or retained by the Town. Drinking Fountain Contractor shall furnish and install one ADA-compliant outdoor drinking fountain with integrated bottle filler and hose bib/spigot, or similar water jug filling option if compatible with the selected unit and approved by the Town. Fountain shall be Elkay model number: LK4420BF1U outdoor drinking fountain or approved equal. Fountain model shall be approved by the Town prior to installation. The drinking fountain scope shall include, but is not limited to: o Fountain procurement, delivery, and installation. o A locking hose bib/spigot compatible with the selected unit. o Concrete mounting pad or foundation required by the manufacturer. o Gravel infiltration pit drainage system. o Backflow prevention, if required. o Plumbing permit(s), inspections, testing, and commissioning. Utility Connection Potable water service is available nearby for connection to the proposed drinking fountain location. The drinking fountain is anticipated to require approximately 200 linear feet of new water service line from the existing/proposed connection point to the drinking fountain location. Contractor shall verify existing site conditions and coordinate all utility tie-in work with the Town. The utility connection scope shall include, but is not limited to: o Locating and protecting existing utilities prior to excavation. o Excavation, trenching, bedding, piping, backfill, compaction, and surface restoration associated with the water service connection. o Supply piping, shutoff valves, drain valves, meter pit vault, and appurtenances required for a complete installation. Meter vault shall be constructed with enough room for a potential backflow prevention if one is desired. o Town will provide meter and remote transmitter Vault Installation, ADA Access, and Concrete Improvements Contractor shall construct all concrete, access, and installation improvements associated with the restroom and drinking fountain installation. Improvements shall include, but are not limited to: o Excavation and placement of the restroom vaults. o Subgrade preparation, bedding, backfill, and compaction. o Roughly 480 square feet of new concrete flatwork, including reinforced concrete pad at restroom entrance, concrete fountain pad, ADA-compliant access route, and transitions to the existing parking surface. Concrete flatwork shall be constructed over properly prepared and compacted subgrade with a minimum of 6 inches of Class 6 Aggregate Base Course, compacted to at least 95% of Standard Proctor density at +-2% of optimum moisture content. Final dimensions shall be coordinated with the Town and adjusted as needed to meet ADA access requirements and site conditions
