The interventions are mainly focused on the existing raw water well and associated pipes, which must be secured to eliminate any possibility of raw water inflow from the St. Lawrence River. More specifically, the raw water supply pipe, with a diameter of 685 mm (27 inches) and a length of approximately 475 m, as well as two adjacent pipes with a combined length of approximately 278 m, located under Highway 132 and associated with Intake No. 1, must be permanently sealed by injecting concrete into them. This intervention is a preliminary step to the work on a future contract for the installation of a reservoir for the new part of the Mario-Petrone plant.In this context, a permanent plug must be installed at the entrance to water intake no. 1 located in the river to ensure the complete sealing of the pipe during concrete injection.
