The project consists of clearing all trees greater than 3 inches in diameter at breast height from approximately one acre of an inclined rock face located below Thayer Hall. The work includes felling all trees within the designated area between November 1, 2026, and March 30, 2027, cutting them flush to the ground as practicable, and hauling all felled material offsite for proper disposal. The terrain is steep and challenging, with the rock face rising over 100 feet vertically in some areas and ranging from vertical to approximately a 1V:1H slope. Access to the work area is restricted to the base of the rock face, as the top is inaccessible due to a multistory structure built into the slope.
