The primary objective is to enhance safety and visibility along the 400-foot pedestrian walkway by installing new LED bollard lights, upgrading existing pole lights to LED, and repairing non-operational light poles. The contractor shall provide and install new LED bollard lights, submit technical specifications and samples for approval, install new concrete bases for bollard lights, ensure bases are installed at consistent levels, provide rigid electrical conduit, and schedule open-trench inspections. Bollard lights should be spaced every 20 feet or as per manufacturer’s specifications and set back approximately 12 inches from the sidewalk edge. A dusk-to-dawn photocell control system must be installed. The two existing non-operational light poles must be repaired, with new conduit and wires installed to connect them to the junction box. All existing light poles (approximately 13) must have their bulbs replaced with new LED bulbs matching the sidewalk lights. All necessary electrical conduit, wiring, and components must be provided to connect the new bollard lights to the existing breaker box. The contractor must also provide portable toilets. Bidders must own, possess, or control a bona fide place of business from which mobilization occurs within 125 miles of Defense Supply Center Richmond, and include this address in their bid. Only complete proposals will be accepted.
