Excavation and reconfiguring of an approximately 250'L x 5'W x 2'D stormwater drainage ditch to address property erosion. Direct Inquiries To: financeoffice@richlandlibrary.com Deadline for Receipt of Questions June 29th 2026 Site Prep & Clearing o Clear ditch of brush, excessive vegetation, trees, and debris that impede water flow. o Identify and remove fallen debris within the channel. Excavation & Debris Removal o Excavate existing silt deposits, debris, and washed-out soil to restore the channel to its intended flow line. o Dispose of all removed material off-site and in accordance with local regulations. Reshaping & Grading o Reshape the drainage ditch, establishing proper slope and V-shaped or U-shaped cross-section, ensuring water flows away from structures, as instructed in. o Ensure proper fall to allow water to drain efficiently without stagnant pools. Bank Stabilization & Erosion Control o Install geotextile filter fabric along the base and sides of the reshaped ditch to separate soil from stone. o Install rip-rap along the bottom and sides to prevent future erosion. o Ensure rip-rap is placed to a dept of 6-12 inches and extends higher along the sides than the maximum anticipated water flow. o For areas with less flow, install biodegradable erosion control blankets and seed with a native perennial grass to stabilize banks. Culvert/Outlet Protection o Clean inlets and outlets where applicable o Install rip-rap apron at the outlet to prevent plunging erosion. Final Site Restoration o Grade all disturbed bank areas smooth. o Apply hydroseed or seed and straw to all disturbed areas to establish vegetation.
