Site work for a water / sewer project in Kinston, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Kinston is hereby requesting informal bids for valve improvements on Rouse Road Tank. This project is being bid in accordance with NCGS 143-131 Informal Bidding Requirements. Summary: Work includes cleaning, surface preparation, structural repairs, remove existing 12" Altitude valve and two gate valves. Furnish and install one 12" check valve for tank drain and two 12" butterfly valves for isolation. Install 8" bypass around 12" check valve. This is to include an 8" inch fill valve with altitude pilot and two 8" isolation butterfly valves. Valves installed shall be located within the existing valve vault. All bidders must meet the requirements of this bid request to be considered a responsive bidder. The City reserves the right to approve or reject materials Approved products shall be used for the project. Substitutions after award will not be permitted without written approval from the City. Mixing of products or components from different manufacturers is not allowed unless approved in writing by the city and verified as compatible by the manufacturers. Bidders shall submit product data for all valves and major components either prior to their bid or with their bid. Allow at least two business days for approval of products submitted. If products submitted with a bid are rejected, the bid will be deemed non-responsive. Bidders must submit: License information Certificate of Insurance Three references for similar work performed Contractor shall comply with the requirements of NCGS 143-133.3 and shall certify that it and its subcontractors use E-Verify to verify the work authorization of employees. Contractor certifies that it is not listed on the Final Divestment List created by the North Carolina State Treasurer pursuant to NCGS 147-86.59. The City reserves the right to reject any bidder deemed not responsible based on past performance, safety record, or financial stability. The Contractor shall provide: Confined space monitoring Ventilation Entry permits and rescue procedures All work must comply with OSHA requirements. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS Workers' Compensation: $500,000 minimum General Liability: $2,000,000 per occurrence Auto Liability: $2,000,000 per occurrence The City shall be named as additional insured. Proof of insurance (COI) must be submitted with the bid. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Award: Lowest responsive and responsible bidder. All work shall be completed within 60 days of Notice to Proceed.
