The principal items of work are detailed herein below. 1. Interior / Tank Coating of the 75,000 Gallon Elevated Town Tank 2. Required Miscellaneous Tank Repairs The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 90 consecutive calendar daystotal and noted restrictionsshall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF THE CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages. The Owner reservesthe right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond for one hundred (100%) ofthe bid amount and a Payment Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the bid amount and mustsecure his bond from a bonding company's representative or agent in the State of Alabama. No bid maybe withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The Owner reservesthe right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving Bids. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
