Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in South Hutchinson, Kansas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel.
The project consists of replacing the existing 105' (32'-41'-32') steel beam bridge with a 160' (48'-64'-48') reinforced concrete haunched slab (RCSH) bridge. The project is located 2.0 miles south of Arlington, Kansas and 0.3 miles east of the Sego Road and Castleton Road intersection along Castleton Road over the North Ninnescah River. Bids will only be received and accepted via the online electronic bid service through QuestCDN.com. To access the electronic bid form, download the project documents and click on the online bid button at the top of the bid advertisement page. Prospective bidders must be on the Planholder list through QuestCDN for bids to be accepted. Questions regarding bids shall be directed in writing to John J. Markel, jmarkel@kirkham.com a minimum of two (2) calendar days prior to the date of the bid opening. Pre-qualification: Required A BIDDER requiring clarification or interpretation of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS shall make a written request to the ENGINEER, John J. Markel at jmarkel@kirkham.com. The OWNER or ENGINEER must receive the written request a minimum of two (2) calendar days prior to the date of the bid opening. Question Deadline 07/14/2026 Bids will be presented to the Reno County Commissioners at their meeting in the Reno County Courthouse Commission room at 9:00 a.m. local time July 22, 2026.
