The University of Nebraska has entered into a lease agreement to utilize the former Cabela’s headquarters building in Sidney, Nebraska, transforming it into a regional hub supporting education, workforce development, healthcare, research, and community engagement across Western Nebraska. As of June 23, 2026, this project is in conceptual design. Planning is expected to conclude by mid-summer 2026, with subsequent renovation and activation of the facility anticipated to follow, leveraging the building’s existing training and education infrastructure.
