VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System is seeking a contractor to remove and replace the pressure reducing valve station at Building 200 of the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center. The project consists of the removal and replacement of the Pressure Reducing Valve Station, including replacing existing components with new Armstrong GP-2000 Carbon Steel steam regulators and associated steam traps, piping, and fittings, along with the installation of a new Quadax isolation valve. The equipment to be installed in Building 200 includes Armstrong steam regulators, Globe Valves (carbon steel), Titan Y-strainers with blowdown, Armstrong drip trap assemblies, and Quadax Isolation Valves (carbon steel). All outdated or corroded pipes, valves, and fittings will be replaced to improve system accessibility. The contractor must provide brand name or equivalent equipment that is either forged or cast steel (no cast iron) and must perform demolition, installation, insulation, pipe labeling, pressure testing, and start-up services according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes and VA standards. The work must minimize disruption to building operations with tasks potentially scheduled after-hours for the initial steam regulator changeover. All work must comply with VA safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and VA hot work permit requirements as applicable. Contractor personnel must meet background investigation requirements as specified.
