Remove 2 existing culverts and install an elliptical culvert at Munuscong south trail culvert, located in Chippewa County, T44N R1E Section 23, Munuscong State Wildlife Management Area. Contractor is to supply all materials, equipment, and labor to: install silt fence on upstream and downstream slope bases; excavate and remove the 2 existing culverts (each approximately 30-inch diameter x 32 feet long, about 5 feet apart); excavate and reshape fill for new culvert placement with inlets and outlets centered in stream; place a new 64-inch wide x 43-inch tall x 36-foot long corrugated steel pipe arch culvert (with 1/2-inch deep corrugations), burying or recessing the inlet and outlet about 1 foot into the stream bed and extending culvert ends at least 2 feet upstream and downstream of the side slope; place and compact fill, restore surface, add geotextile fabric, and install 3-12 inch diameter rock riprap around the ends and slopes for stabilization. All work must comply with the EGLE permit, during a dry period with minimal or no stream flow unless otherwise agreed by DNR staff. Contractor is responsible for all fill, silt fence, geotextile fabric, rock riprap, water management, removal or grading of excess fill, and disposal of existing metal. A soil erosion and sedimentation control plan must be submitted for approval before work starts. Work at this site must be coordinated so that either site 1 or site 2 remains passable by a 2-wheel drive vehicle at all times. DNR may select any or no bids and can award for only one site depending on budget, with priority for awarding at site 1.
