WAT0200134 Bidders shall address questions regarding the specifications to Anna Crandall, PE, Assistant City Engineer at crandalla@kalamazoocity.org, (This does not relieve the requirements of Page 1, Item 3.) Questions regarding terms, conditions and other related bid requirements may be addressed to Stephanie Losey, Buyer at loseys@kalamazoocity.org Work may begin within 10-days of Notice to Proceed. Work shall be substantially complete by 11/1/2027. Final completion shall be 6/1/2028. The Project Location For Pump Station 25 Is 7275 East H Avenue, Kalamazoo,mi 49048. The Work At Pump Station 25 Consists Of Demolishing Existing Electrical Equipment And Providing And Installing New Electrical Equipment And Appurtenances In A New Building, As Well As A New Generator, Site Work, Paving And New Conduit And Ductwork From Pump Station 25 To The Existing Nine Wells. Scope of Work: 1. The Work to be done consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment, and the performance of all Work included in this Contract. The summary of the Work is presented in Section 01110: Summary of Work. 2. Work Included: a. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, power, light, heat, fuel, water, tools, appliances, equipment, supplies, and means of construction necessary for proper performance and completion of the Work. The Contractor shall obtain and pay for all necessary construction permits except as provided for in Section 01065 - Permits and Fees. The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work in the manner best calculated to promote rapid construction consistent with safety of life and property and to the satisfaction of the Engineer, and in strict accordance with the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall clean up the Work and maintain it during and after construction, until accepted, and shall do all Work and pay all costs incidental thereto. He shall repair or restore all structures and property that may be damaged or disturbed during performance of the Work. b. The cost of incidental work described in these Project Requirements, for which there are no specific Contract Items, shall be considered as part of the general cost of doing the Work and shall be included in the prices for the various Contract Items. No additional payment will be made therefore. c. The Contractor shall provide and maintain tools and equipment as may be necessary, in the opinion of the Engineer, to perform in a satisfactory and acceptable manner all the Work required by this Contract. Only equipment of established reputation and proven efficiency shall be used. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the adequacy of his workmanship, materials, and equipment, prior approval of the Engineer notwithstanding. 3. Public Utility Installations and Structures: a. Public utility installations and structures shall be understood to include all poles, tracks, pipes, wires, conduits, vaults, manholes, and all other appurtenances and facilities pertaining thereto whether owned or controlled by the Owner, other governmental bodies, or privately owned by individuals, firms, or corporations, used to serve the public with transportation, traffic control, gas, electricity, telephone, sewerage, drainage, water, or other public or private property which may be affected by the Work shall be deemed included hereunder. b. The Contract Documents contain data relative to existing public utility installations and structures above and below the ground surface. These data are not guaranteed as to their completeness or accuracy and it is the responsibility of the Contractor to make his own investigations to inform himself fully of the character, condition, and extent of all such installations and structures as may be encountered and as may affect the construction operations.
