The City of Larned is seeking competitive sealed bids from licensed private tree trimming contractors to perform tree trimming and/or removal on City property, including right-of-way. The selected contractor must provide supervision, labor, equipment, traffic control, debris removal, and incidentals necessary to perform tree and brush cutting and removal services on various utility and public rights-of-way, utility lines, and roadways in and around the city. The contractor is responsible for supplying all necessary labor, tools, and equipment to perform tree trimming along power lines and other city rights-of-way under the direction of a designated city representative. Stumps of removed trees must not exceed 24 inches above grade; the city will handle removal of these stumps. The city will provide locations for all trees to be trimmed or removed. The contractor is responsible for the daily disposal, both physical and financial, of all wood and wood products generated, and must arrange for the proper disposal of clean wood waste or chippings with the County Landfill. Bidders must submit sealed bids prior to the designated opening time, and late bids will not be considered. Bids should include the company name and project title on the envelope. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty days after the bid opening. The city reserves the right to evaluate, reject, waive formalities, and award the bid in its best interests.
