Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in La Quinta, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and playground / park / athletic field.

The scope of work consists of: Erecting metal and fabric shade structures at multiple school sites. The material will be OFCI. All material for each shelter will need to be transported from the district office and respectively delivered to each site. Architectural and structural drawings have been reviewed and approved for code compliance by the DSA as the Authority Having Jurisdiction. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following license(s) issued by the California Contractors State License Board: B-License The Bidder's license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract. An original (i) bid bond by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District (ii) a cashier's check or (iii) a certified check, drawn to the order of the Desert Sands Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, shall accompany the Bid Form and Proposal, as a guarantee that the Bidder will, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Work. The Work consists of erecting approximately 17 shade structuresthat vary from metal deck type to fabric material at multiple schools in accordance with the approved DSA drawings and specifications. All elements of the structure and shade material are OFCI. Material for each school site will need to be transported from the district storage yard to each of the 6 project locations by the contractor. 2. Inspect each item of the district furnished structure and material package for damage, tears, or missing parts. Notify District of any discrepancies. 3. Coordinate with District and the Inspector of Record prior to start of work. 4. Establish staging area for materials and protect existing improvements. 5. Install temporary fencing with wind screens on all sides. 6. Verify all site conditions, layout, and dimensions against approved drawings. 7. Establish layout of shade structural in accordance with Contract Documents. 8. Excavate by hand digging the first five feet of each footing to avoid damaging and disrupting utility service. 9. Re-route any irrigation lines within the footprint of the concrete slab.
