Sealed proposals are requested for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and supervision necessary for the construction of a 2-inch water main associated with State Highway 70 improvements. The work is being performed under the direction of ODOT. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check or an acceptable bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The successful bidder or bidders will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of the contract, written by a responsible surety company authorized to do business in the State of Oklahoma. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves of all local conditions. The time of completion shall be 150 calendar days including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. All laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed in the construction of public works shall be paid not less than the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for work of similar character in the locality. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The successful bidder will be required to furnish evidence of registration with the State Department of Finance and Administration in compliance with Act 125 of 1965 prior to engaging in the performance of this Contract. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for at least 90 calendar days. McCurtain Rural Water District #8 reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any minor informalities, and to award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Contractors are cautioned that qualified bids will be subject to rejection and that any proposed subcontractor must be acceptable to the Owner.
