Sealed bids are invited for the 208 Roosevelt Avenue Sanitary Sewer Replacement. The project includes the removal of approximately 215 linear feet of existing 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer, installation of proposed 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer main including new 6-inch diameter sanitary sewer lateral services, bypass pumping, restoration, and erosion and sediment control as described in the specifications and on the drawings. The work is located adjacent to 208 Roosevelt Avenue, Wilmington Manor Subdivision, New Castle Hundred, New Castle, Delaware. Bids shall be accompanied by a bidder's bond, certified or cashier's check in an amount equal to 10% of the bid price, payable to New Castle County and conditioned to be forfeited to said County for failure to enter into a contract, if awarded. The bid bond shall be an original document containing original signatures, and original seals shall be attached if the corporate surety and/or bidder have corporate seals. Awards, if any, will be made to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The County reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive minor irregularities. The successful bidder will be required to give bond of a surety company, acceptable to the County, and licensed to do business in the State of Delaware, in the amount of the contract price. All bidders must comply with New Castle County's Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, prevailing wage requirements, alcohol and drug testing policy, and the Contractor Registration Act. Bids must include the required affidavits and SBE forms. Pre-qualification requirements: New Castle County will only accept bids from contractors prequalified with the County in the Category E (C), Collector Sewer or B (B1) Sewer Systems, Collector Sewer.
