Refurbish two primary clarifiers as noted in the drawings, including sandblasting and recoating metal components, replacing items as noted, and replacing drive motors. This item includes bid additive items as indicated in the Bid Schedule and Design Drawings. Remove and replace existing gas control and safety equipment as outlined in the drawings. Remove and refurbish digester #3 lid as outlined in the drawings. Refurbish concrete and piping in digesters #3 and #1. Furnish and install new biogas flare. All contractors intending to submit a bid must attend the mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting to obtain relevant information concerning the project and inspect the project site in person. Information affecting drawings, specifications, conditions, and scope of work may be discussed at this meeting. WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The following list has been furnished for the convenience of the Contractor and shall not be considered as representing all Work required in the Contract Documents. Contractor shall not take advantage of any errors or omissions in this listing and shall report any discrepancies or questionable items to the Engineer for clarification. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following:BID ITEM #1 - PRIMARY CLARIFIER REHABILITATION i. The Mobilization of all equipment, labor, tools, and materials to and from the project site. ii. Site demolition and removal of existing equipment and/or infrastructure as indicated in the Contract Document. iii. Dewatering of areas near clarifier tanks utilizing dewatering wells - contractor to furnish dewatering pumps and coordinate disposal with operators. iv. Rehabilitation of two (2) primary clarifier mechanisms including replacement drives, repair/recoating of members that are to remain, replacement components for each clarifier as indicated in the drawings. v. Bid Additive item (options) to remove and replace handrail. vi. Rehabilitation work must be completed separately and individually for each tank to allow one tank to remain online and operable at all times. vii. Milestone #1 - substantial completion of rehabilitation of first primary clarifier tank viii. Milestone #2 - substantial completion of rehabilitation of second primary clarifier tankBID ITEM #2 - DIGESTER & BIOGAS SAFETY REHABILITATION i. The Mobilization of all equipment, labor, tools, and materials to and from the project site. ii. Subsurface investigation/potholing of existing utilities critical to project construction. iii. Site demolition and removal of existing equipment and/or infrastructure as indicated in the Contract Documents. Milestone #1 - Rehabilitation of Digester Tanks & Replacement Biogas Safety Equipment iv. Repair of cracks in existing concrete structures in accordance with the details and procedures in the Contract Documents. v. Replacement of gas safety equipment (condensate traps, flame arrestors, drip traps, and associated butterfly valves) in the South and North Digester Buildings biogas lines. vi. Addition of a sludge piping cleanout points and air relief valve on sludge lines. vii. Replacement of single Pressure Relief Valve (PRV), Flame Arrestor, and butterfly valve assemblies with dual PRV/flame arrestor assemblies with 3-way multi-port safety valve for each digester cover (Digester 1, 2, and 3) and insulating jackets. viii. Replacement of butterfly valves on digester covers gas lines (Digester 1, 2, and 3). ix. Repair of coating as needed on Digester 1 floating cover. x. Replacement of Digester 1 floating cover guides' sliding plates. xi. Repair and concrete protective liner installation on damaged concrete on Digester 1 tank. xii. Removal and replacement of insulation on Digester 3 cover. xiii. Coating of the inside of Digester 3 cover (requires removal and reinstallation of entire steel lid assembly from concrete tank). xiv. Replacement of mounting hardware on Digester 3 cover. xv. Repair and coating of damaged concrete on Digester 3 tank. xvi. Repair of Digester 3 tank siding. Milestone #2 - Installation of new biogas flare xvii. Installation of new biogas flare with insulating jackets and heat tracingxviii. All other civil, yard piping, mechanical, and electrical work included in the Contract Documents. xix. Testing and Startup and Commissioning as described in Section 017500 - Commissioning.
